Protect Yourself: Get your Flu Shot!
Get the Shot … Not the Flu!
The flu shot is FREE to all Manitobans and Flu Clinics in Central are currently scheduled. When attending clinics, please bring your Manitoba Health Card and wear short/loose-fitting sleeves.
An annual flu shot is especially important for those at increased risk of serious illness from the flu, their caregivers and close contacts. This includes:
- seniors age 65 or older
- children age six months to four years
- those with chronic illness
- pregnant women
- health care workers and first responders
- individuals of Aboriginal ancestry
- people who are severely overweight or obese
If you are 65 or older or have a chronic illness, you should also get a pneumo shot. One pneumo shot may give you a lifetime of protection.
For more information, please select subject topics on right-hand sidebar or visit the Province of Manitoba flu website.
For personal advice on self-care or when to seek further care, Manitobans who cannot contact their primary health-care provider can phone Health Links – Info Santé at any time at 1-888-315-9257.
