N95 Respirator Collection for Sterilization and Reuse

Manitoba is reviewing opportunities to collect, sterilize and reuse lightly used N95 respirators.  A document providing direction on how to collect these is now available. Directors of Health Services and Program Directors (or delegates) are to review and implement accordingly. 

Heavy-duty clear bags are to be used for the collection of lightly used N95 respirators.  The clear bags are to be sent to one of the three Distribution Centres.

Authority of OESH and IP&C Leads in Determining of Staff Exemptions and PPE Requirements

Manitoba's Incident Command has designated Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health (OESH) as the final authority on the determination of staff and/or physician exemptions from work and PPE requirements as per this document.  Directors of Health Services and Program Directors (or delegates) are to review and implement accordingly. 

Eye Protection Cleaning Instructions

A document has been released instructing how eye protection is to be cleaned in Southern Health-Santé Sud.  Directors of Health Services and Program Directors (or delegates) are to review and implement accordingly.

Elevator/Stair use posters

New posters have been released limiting the amount of people on elevators and encouraging people to use the stairs.  Directors of Health Services and Program Directors (or delegates) of sites with elevators are to post both posters by their elevators.
