Position Summary

The incumbent performs varied clerical and reception duties in a Medical Clinic. The Clerk II may provide clerical support to additional medical clinics located in Emerson and Saint-Jean-Baptiste.

The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.

Qualifications

  • Grade XII or equivalent
  • Completion of a recognized Medical Office Assistant or Medical Secretary program
  • Typing speed of 40 words per minute
  • Excellent computer skills in Windows and Microsoft Office Programs
  • Two (2) years experience as a clerk in a Medical Clinic preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Experience working with patients/clients, families, physicians, and general staff
  • Good physical and mental health to meet the demands of the position.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums
  • Good work and attendance record
