Health Information Management (HIM) Program
Only graduates of a Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) recognized health information management education program may write the national certification examination. National certification provides the graduate with recognition and portability of credentials across Canada. Upon certification, individuals become bound by the profession’s Code of Ethics. To ensure skills are maintained, mandatory Continuing Professional Education (CPE) is required for continued certification.
