We offer a wide range of learning opportunities to help ease your transition into the team:

‘Home for the Summer’ Program

In partnership with Manitoba’s Office of Rural and Northern Health, the region is pleased to participate and coordinate the ‘Home for the Summer’ program in our area with support from clinics, facilities and communities. The program offers summer employment to post-secondary medical students providing hands-on experience both in the hospital environment and with patient interactions. This is a great opportunity to learn more about communities in the region, work alongside trained health care providers and enhance knowledge and skills in the area of study. To be eligible for the program, you must originate from the region or have a connection to the region and be currently enrolled in a health care training program that is a future need for the region.

Interested in a career in health care?

We offer Job Shadowing opportunities for students interested in a career in health care. These opportunities provide a realistic job preview by allowing you to observe an employee performing the duties of their job to better understand what it all entails. Job shadowing is a great way for you to explore various careers prior to committing to an educational program as well as a way to get to know more about the health care system.
