Accelerated Fit Testing Update

A memo was released providing an update for the Accelerated Fit Testing that is currently occurring provincially.  Leads (or delegates) review the memo.

Public Health Agency of Canada COVID-19 Vaccine Survey and Webinar

The Public Health Agency of Canada is surveying health care providers to learn more about the training and resources that will be most useful to help you discuss COVID-19 vaccines with patients/clients and to receive the vaccine yourself when they become available.  They are interested in the views of all health care providers.  The survey is available to complete until December 13th, 2020.

The Public Health Agency of Canada is also providing webinars about COVID-19 Vaccine Foundations for Health Care Providers (English and one in French).  The webinars are occurring December 14th and 15th, 2020.

Leads (or delegates) review and share accordingly.

Occurrence Reports for COVID-19 positive clients and staff - UPDATE

This is in follow-up to the September 9th and 18th Call to Actions regarding Occurrence Reports being completed for COVID-19 positive clients and staff.

We have been notified by Manitoba Health,  Seniors and Active Living that we are no longer required to submit Occurrence Reports as Critical Occurrences for residents, inpatients and staff who test positive for COVID-19 or any deaths related to COVID-19.

The exception to the change for completing an occurrence report related to COVID-19 as a Critical Occurrence is as follows:

  • Any COVID-19 cases that have an actual impact to overall service delivery and/or
  • Any actual/potential negative media involvement

Staff related exposures would still be managed through work place safety and Health and would be classified as a regular occurrence and not a critical occurrence.

Thank you to all who have worked diligently in completing and submitting occurrence reports through these busy and unforeseen times.

Leads (or delegates) review and share accordingly.
