Southern Health-Santé Sud Board of Directors April 2016 Meeting Highlights

Sacred Moment:  Ms. Line Leclerc shared thoughts on the following quote by Helen Keller:  "I long to accomplish a great and noble task, but it is my chief duty to accomplish humble tasks as though they were great and noble.  The world is moved along, not only by the mighty shoves of its heroes, but also by the aggregate of the tiny pushes of each honest worker." Success is almost impossible to chart.  No one person can claim recognition. It depends on "an aggregate of tiny pushes of each honest worker". These individuals, those who "do small things with great love" are also the heroes in health care.

Election of Officers:  Board Vice-Chair:  Ms. Cheryl McKitrick.

Rural Week May 23-27 (Office of Rural & Northern Health):  Medical students are given an opportunity to experience working in a rural community. This year, 36 students will be experiencing life in 13 communities within Southern Health-Santé Sud.

HealthCareCAN Governing for Quality and Patient Safety on-line course:  Two Board Members, Ms. Bronwen Bugden and Ms. Debbie Iverson, are currently completing the course. Their registrations were sponsored by the Regional Health Authorities Manitoba (RHAM).

Manitoba Institute for Patient Safety (MIPS):  Annual Public Meeting: June 8, 2016 Delta Winnipeg. Registration: 4:00 P.M. – Meeting Starts: 4:30 P.M. For more information / RSVP, please visit http://mips.ca/
