Southern Health-Santé Sud Board of Directors November 2017 Meeting Highlights

Sacred Moment
Ms. Judith Siemens shared how, as an organization, Southern Health-Santé Sud is of course ‘all about health’. However, in addition to the many services available throughout the region, it is of paramount importance that, as individuals and to the best of our abilities, we first look after ourselves, for example, self-directed preventative health care.

This was the theme of an article entitled: 'A few lifestyle habits for a healthier life’ written by Dr. Ocki Persson and published in the Morden-Winkler Voice. Excerpt from the article:
Changing habits is difficult and takes consistent effort, determination and personal motivation. It may help to stop and ask, is this good for me? Before mindlessly continuing in a comfortable habit. You will then be well on your way to being kinder to your body. The message here is not new, it is not complicated and is certainly not financially draining. The cost, however, is significant in personal discipline, time and planning your day ahead. Investing in your health today will ensure a rewarding pay-out later. Our health is primarily in our own hands. What one, new healthy decision are you making today?
