Call to Action - April 15, 2020 - Testing for Staff, Virtual Town Hall

Testing for Staff

Effective immediately, all health care workers (staff and physicians) and first responders who become symptomatic may self-refer to a testing site for COVID-19.  A memo has been released providing direction on the change in process.

When "local Occupational Health Services or designate" is referenced within the document, in Southern Health-Santé Sud, this refers to "site Infection Prevention & Control Practitioner or designate".

Negative results for health care workers will continue to be provided by established regional processes with direction for returning to work provided by manager and Infection Prevention & Control Practitioner.

Directors of Health Services and Program Directors (or delegates) are to review, implement and share with staff.

Virtual Town Hall

Dr. Theresa Tam, Canada's Chief Public Health Officer, and other guests will be appearing on a CBC cross-platform special today, April 15th, from 1800-2000 (Central Standard Time).  The special will be broadcast on all CBC Radio, television and online platforms simultaneously.  Links to the online broadcasts are below.
