Visiting Hours

Southern Health-Santé Sud acknowledges the importance of families in the provision of care and comfort to patients. Families are welcome during times most suitable to the patient.

General visiting hours - 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm

  • Audiology

    Audiology includes assessment, intervention, education and advocacy related to: hearing disorders in infants, children and adults; amplification such as hearing aids and other assistive listening devices; tinnitus (noise or ringing in the ears); auditory processing disorders (issues with how the brain processes sound); hyperacusis and misophonia (sensitivities to particular sounds); balance disorders including dizziness or vertigo caused by Ménières disease, ear infections and trauma to the skull.   • Cancer Navigation Services

    Cancer Navigation Services facilitate timely and appropriate access to the cancer care system and can guide and support cancer patients and their families through the entire cancer journey. The Navigation Team works closely with the entire health care team to coordinate care and help patients access referrals, resources and other helpful supports. Health care professionals and providers can refer patients to Cancer Navigation Services.   • CancerCare

    Community Cancer Programs exist to ensure all patients receive timely and appropriate access to quality care across the cancer spectrum in areas of prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and palliation and improved coordination of this care while accessing a multidisciplinary team of health care providers.   • Computed Tomography

  • Dialysis

    Dialysis treatments are provided on-site based on assessment and referral from the Manitoba Renal Program. Click here for more information on dialysis.

  • Electrocardiogram

  • Emergency Department

    What you can expect on your emergency department visit: You will be registered and assessed by the triage nurse. You will need to provide your health history, i.e. allergies or special diet, medications, medical conditions and current contact information. Please have your Manitoba Health Card ready. You may be asked to sit in the waiting room; the most critically ill or injured patients will be seen first. Emergency department staff work as a team to give you the best possible care. Always tell the triage nurse if you are feeling worse, need to step outside or leave the hospital. You may need blood work, x-rays or other medical tests to determine the best treatment. While in the emergency department, thank you for respecting the privacy and care of all our patients and, remember: It’s safe to ask any questions. The schedule for Health Centre Emergency Departments is updated weekly.   • Laboratory

  • Obstetrics
    Parents have many choices when it comes to delivering their baby. Please speak with your health care provider about your care needs. As required, you may require referral to a different site if your care needs or desired options exceed that which can be provided at this site.
  • Physiotherapy
    Physiotherapy is a primary health care profession that promotes wellness, mobility and independent function. Physiotherapists work with people of all ages who have experienced injury, illness, surgery, disability, or developmental disability and are skilled in the assessment and hands-on management of a broad range of conditions that affect the musculoskeletal, circulatory, respiratory and nervous systems.   • Speech-language pathology

    A speech-language pathologist is a clinician specialized in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders in children and adults resulting from a variety of causes which may include stroke, hearing loss, brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, developmental delays, cleft palate or Autism Spectrum Disorder.   • Stress Testing

  • Surgery

  • Telehealth

    Telehealth is the use of technology to connect people to health care services at a distance. A secure, video link connects clients to health care providers at different locations in Manitoba. You are able to see, hear and talk to your care provider on a television screen and they will be able to see, hear and talk to you.

  • Universal Newborn Hearing Screening

    Babies born in Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Boundary Trails Health Centre, Portage District General Hospital and Hôpital Ste-Anne Hospital offer a hearing screen while in hospital. If a baby isn't able to receive the hearing screen in hospital or if s.he is born at home or elsewhere, a hearing screen will be arranged at a Southern Health-Santé Sud Audiology Clinic.
